Brennabu School Camp was inaugurated in 1965. Eli and Oluf
Brenna founded the school camp and started with receiving one
class at a time. During the years old buildings have been enlarged
and new ones have been built. What we today call "Gamlehuset" (The
Old House), has three wings - with room for three school classes.
In addition do we now have cabins of different sizes, used for
school camp and ordinary rental. The cabins may house two
school classes. That means a total capacity of five school classes
or 120-130 children.
Brennabu AS is now owned by Eli and Oluf's son - Eivind
Brenna and his wife Elisabeth Mellbye. Elisabeth is also in
charge of the school camp, while Eivind has his work elsewhere.

Brennabu AS is today place of employment for 12-14
persons. In addition are 7 teachers employed by the school
camps hosting community, Vestre Slidre - whom are in charge for the
pedagogic arrangement.
The administration and the contact with the schools as well as
our hosting role are taken care of at our office at Brennabu. We
have 6 persons working in the kitchen in addition to a caretaker
and cleaning staff.
"GAMLEHUSET" - The Old House
Brennabu is situated at Vaset in the valley of Valdres - in
the community of Vestre Slidre - appx. 20 km from Fagernes.
The altitude is 850 m.a.s., with short and easy access to the
forest, the high mountains and the lakes. The lake
Vasetvatnet is situated appx. 500 m away from Brennabu and is a
popular activity area.
In wintertime we have a well prepared x-country net with a total
of 80 - 100 km, starting right outside the door. 300 m further up
in the mountain side, there are alpine slopes - Vaset Ski lift -
with 2 lifts and 2 slopes, half pipe, floodlit in evenings,
children's lift and slopes.
We run the school camp throughout the school year and functions
as a mountain lodge during weekends and holidays.
You may choose to stay in high standard cabins or in family
rooms with shower and toilet in "Gamlehuset"
During summer - in July - we offer activity holiday for families
(weekly stay). At Easter we open up as a mountain lodge and
during weekends we receive companies, sports clubs, choirs or other
groups.
Skiing groups come to have their early season gathering at
Brennabu in November. Snow is normally arriving early and we
may therefore offer excellent training conditions. If snow doesn't
come naturally, we have equipment for producing snow as soon as we
have a few minus Celsius degrees.
"LÅVIN" is our most recent acquisition. "Låvin" is a banqueting
hall/ conference premises for school children, courses,
conferences, concerts, jubilees of different kinds. It is possible
to set table for more than 100 persons - seating for 150
persons.

developed Brennabu into a model holding. As a tourist
enterprise their product is continuously developed so that Brennabu
is very well known far and wide.
Brennabu has shown that quality and effort mixed with
creativity make excellent results."
Elisabeth accepts the price - The Company of the Year 2007 in
